Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn’t help the poor, either we’ve got to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we’ve got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition, and then admit that we just don’t want to do it. —Stephen Colbert
Media Makeover Tips For “Occupy” Protesters (Funny, Very Funny)
#OccupyPortland “One: be camera ready. Have your camera on you so if there is a media slant, you can capture it. Two: have a coherent message. Tell people exactly why you are here…not what other people are doing. The overarching theme here is that people are being screwed, but that can’t be summed up in a soundbite-ready statement. However if you tell the media your personal story, it’s the most touching, the most effective way to communicating to people why they should be here as well.”

Think about today.
Sarah Palin has finally bowed out of the limelight.
Steve Jobs, the most influential person of this century, has passed.
And the people of the United States are starting to finally ask the right questions in front of every financial quarter and city hall in the country.
Tomorrow is going to be very different.
“Confusion about what workers can or can’t post about their workplaces has led to a surge of complaints at the National Labor Relations Board. They come to the NLRB, whether or not the company is unionized, because a decades-old rule that stems from union organizing is being applied to protect employees who are having a conversation on social media venues among co-workers about terms or conditions of employment. That’s called “protected concerted activity,” and it’s allowable.”

We like to think people judge our beliefs and ourselves by what we espouse.
But most of that judgment is done by how we act.
And most of the actions that are judged are not our grand moments on stage,
but in our day-to-day mundanities.
like snow-shoveling
or game-playing.
Everyone agrees they will play a game for many consecutive weeks. Setting a complete line-up every week is a chance to practice beliefs about acting cooperatively.

Statue of “Appennino” (1579-1580), a colossal sculpture by Giambologna. At Villa Pratolino, Tuscany, Italy.
A piece of one of the favorites…
“Production of the female cyborgs goes beyond a reflection of their creator. They embody the visibility of hybrid identities and the organic symbiosis of human and machine. Female cyborgs contest and retaliate against patriarchal values and the colonial mentality of fixed margins.
In relation to sexual politics, female cyborgs challenge patriarchal values of reproduction, labor and pleasure. Cyborg modifications enabled them to adapt to the human environment emanating male hysteria towards female cyborg skills of self-reproduction (cybernetic re-enhancements). They also have the superior capability of providing physical pleasure and pain.”
